When you shake a string tied to a doorknob, you create a 'wave' that 'radiates' outwards from your hand down the string to the doorknob. This string is what we are using to 'transmit' our signal. The string is the 'transmission media', our hand and arm are the 'transmitter', and the doorknob is the 'receiver'.
Now to gets really confusing! Whenever a device can both transmit and receive, it is called a transceiver.
Media is the stuff used to connect all the devices together. That can be the air, a cable or radio waves.
